How do the Rawmarsh School Schemes relate to the TOPS/OEAP cards?

We have cross referenced our schemes to the original TOPS cards where appropriate so that if a school has them they can be combined to make use of both resources together.

The same applies to the OEAP cards for the OAA scheme of work.

You don't need the TOPS or the OEAP cards to be able to deliver these lessons.

It says that the schemes are linked to the 4 strands of the National Curriculum. How does that work?

Each of the lesson plans has learning objectives written under the 4 strands of the National Curriculum:

Acquiring & Developing,
Selecting & Applying,
Improving & Evaluating,
Knowledge & Understanding of Fitness & Health.

How do the schemes tie into other areas of curriculum?

There is a section at the beginning of each year group that looks at cross curricular links.

Each year then goes on to give overall learning objectives, teaching approaches, extension and enrichment opportunities, and key words and phrases, which is then followed by a table of expectations of levels of ability, so it helps you to tie the PE lesson into other subject areas.

This will be especially important when proposed changes are made to primary curriculum from September 2012, when the curriculum becomes more centered around the child rather than the subject.
