Professional Development

A range of professional development is available to support all the titles.

All of these Schemes of Work for Physical Education have been designed to be very easy to use by all teachers without any training being necessary. Professional Development is however available.

Sharon Robinson is the author of the Schemes of Work, and is an experienced, nationally renowned consultant in physical education, with a very impressive CV. She works extensively with sports colleges, secondary and primary schools, universities, SSPs and professional bodies. She has written training materials and is a national trainer for the CPD programme.

Sharon has written numerous specialist publications in dealing with all aspects of curriculum planning, strategic planning, subject management and assessment, from Early Years to KS4. Her work has been published independently, by education authorities and by BAALPE/AfPE.

Sue Cooper was the driving force behind the Assessment package. Sue was trained as a middle school PE specialist and taught for 22 years as Head of Physical Education, is a highly regarded trainer at both primary and secondary level and has delivered professional development courses locally and nationally.

Sue has played a fundamental part in the development of the widely acclaimed Gymnastics, Dance, Games, OAA & Athletics schemes of work for KS1 and KS2, and worked in partnership with Gary Cooper to develop the Assessment package.

Gary Cooper is an Advanced Skills Teacher of Physical Education, based at Rawmarsh Community School A Sports College. He was previously head of Physical Education a two secondary schools and is a moderator and examiner for GCSE Physical Education. Gary has led a range of professional development courses, both regionally and nationally, including Assessment, Recording and Reporting in Physical Education.

Training courses are held a the school or organisations premises, and subsequent telephone support is included.

Matt Wainwright, Acting PDM at Rawmarsh School, will be delivering training throughout Rotherham.
